Edible plants for pollinating insects and people

Edible flowers include … hollyhock, viola tricolour, calendula (pot marigolds), primrose, hyssop (also known as bee balm), borage, lavender, sunflowers, blossoming fruit trees.

Leave some of the plants of your green salads go to seed and you’ll keep pollinators, especially butterflies and bees, happy. Pollinator friendly salads include rocket, dandelion, radish.

Flowering squash and green beans and asparagus and  flowering herbs such as mint, chamomile, basil, yarrow, dill, fennel, thyme and oregano are also tasty for both pollinating insects and people.
